Founded in August 2010 in Samsung-dong, Seoul, and extended to Daegu in April 2011, OCEAN originally a place that provides a range of technical support and equipment related to the development of application and user interface for the platform bada and Smart TV. Until now, OCEAN has produced more than 30,000 users, 2,000 students, and 100 start-up companies over the past two and a half years, which contributed to the growth of bada developer ecosystem and Smart TV in Korea.
First of all, Samsung Electronics will reform and improved technical support. Service to the developer-related issues such as application development for the S Pen, Smart TV will be done and solved together by mentor online and place. Samsung is also scheduled to launch support is always alert in place.
In addition, the seminar program like "OOPS (OCEAN Open Seminar)" will be reinstated to the general public online and ofline, as well as a small study group consisting of 2 to 50 people between the large and small seminars to continue the pre-existing. Environment "OCEAN" which has been upgraded and Samsung smart devices such as smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs will be available as before so that developers can test their applications using the S Pen, Smart TVs, and other devices as appropriate. Education program and free course for novice developers will also continue to operate.
"OCEAN has now shifted its function with multidimensional support for a variety of platforms," said an official of Samsung Electronics, Media Solution Center (MSC). "Proactively OCEAN will promote technological convergence between devices and play a role to bridge the gap between application developers and Samsung to create a synergy between the two," he added.
